Melt the butter in a medium size skillet.
Once melted, add the apples. Cook on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are starting to get tender.
Add the cider or juice, cinnamon and brown sugar and stir the apples to coat. Continue to cook on medium-low heat until the juices thicken.
Remove from heat to cool. Then use as a side dish for pork chops, or as a topping for waffles or ice cream.
